How does it work?

An anti virus program runs all the time on your computer and is like a security guard in your home. When ever you want anything the security guard will fetch it from the cupboard (Hard disk) and inspect it for bad things (Viruses) and then allow you to have it if it is ok. This is the same for anything coming through the post (email) or parcels being delivered (downloads).

It is important that the Anti virus program is kept up to date This will happen automatically a long as you have a valid subscription so don't let it lapse.
This is important because there are many new viruses being generated every day.
