Wireless networking Also known as an unwired networking is a way of connecting computers and peripherals without the aid of LAN cabling. The cabling is replaced with a wireless link which can be one of many speeds. The spec is 802.11a/b/g. the "b" denotes a connections speed of up to 11Mbps while the "g" denotes up to 54Mbps.
Everything in the wired network will work with or can be replaced by a wireless product. the Cable/DSL router can be replaced by an Access point and network cards for PC or note book can also be substituted by a wireless product.
Networks should be designed and should you have a large space to cover then a wireless survey can be undertaken.
Wireless Products
ADSL routers, Cable/DSL routers, Access points, Notebook adaptors, PCI adaptors, Print servers, USB adaptors, PDA adaptors.
Bridges
Some access points can be connected back to back to form a wireless bridge from one place to another. An example of this could be where two buildings are separated by a road etc then the LAN can be extended easily across the road via a wireless bridge.
